Essential Oils

Essential oils are not distilled twice, rather those that contain a potentially toxic component might undergo an additional process so that the oil can be used safely. The most important consideration when purchasing essential oils is that they are essential. Some oil blends might simply be scented oils, be blended with lower grade oils or contain synthetic components.

 Modere blends have always been made with 100% pure essential oils. The blends were produced to therapeutic standards so they could be listed on the Australian register of therapeutic goods. They were developed to provide benefits to the user when used according to the directions on the label.

 It’s important to note that the Modere blends do belong to Modere, and must not be recreated for commercial purposes. To create your own blend using your preferred oils, we’d recommend seeking out a specialty store and working with their team. Any questions about quality might be directed to them.

 Finally, it’s important to know that essential oils must not be ingested – eaten or drunk, and must not be applied directly to the skin – they must be highly diluted within a carrier - a cream, lotion, or oil, or few drops in the bath.  They are incredibly concentrated and can ‘burn’ the skin and throat. Make sure the blend is kept in a safe place away from children and pets.
