Q:
Thank you for advising your plastic is BPA etc free, however as a moderate user of your products, I am very concerned that all your products are in plastic containers, many with a soft-plastic wrap printed overlay.
I'm sure i don't need to tell you the world has a massive plastic problem. And when I finish your product I take the soft plastic off if needed, remove lids, rinse container and put into my recycle bin .... what happens from there who knows, but after the 60mins show a few weeks ago, Im very skeptical, and I believe companies who produce the product and sell them in plastic containers need to take more ownership & responsibility.
What are modere doing to address this ??? Why can you not move to another form of packaging - cardboard, glass etc ???
A:
Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know your thoughts about packaging, it’s nice to hear from someone as passionate as we are about our environmental footprint!
I also saw that 60 minutes report a couple of weeks ago, it was confronting to say the least but with all the research we do here at Modere, sadly the report was not a surprise to me at all.
A long term solution for packaging, like reusable containers is brilliant – but for a company of our size it’s mammoth and takes time. We have epic dreams here at Modere and we are working towards innovating in that direction but any solution needs to be a permanent one that doesn’t cost our customers more in the final price of their product.
At present, our plastic containers are fully recyclable because that is the best option available to us for the environment and our customers in the short term.
We all need to continue to do the best we can, work towards always doing better as well as lobbying our local, state and federal governments to keep them accountable for our recycling programs here in Australia too.
Q:
Why is a plastic outer used on the LBC bottle; how does it fit with the Modere paradigm?
A:
It is used as a tamper evident seal to ensure that the product you receive has not been compromised; this forms part of our commitment to safety and safer products. There is no concern for contamination unless the break-away seal is torn or has broken away.
Q:
Are the plastics Modere uses free from BPA, BPF, BPS and other common resin converters/plasticizers (bisphenols).
A:
Yes they are! Our packaging is free of BPA, BPF and BPS.
